A gripping look at the 1948 War of independence. A pretty volunteer nurse, whose sole reason for volunteering, is to fill the void in her life, left by the death of her former lover, a soldier. Among the injured patients is Hemo, a blinded soldier, who has had most of his limbs amputated. "The only words he can speak are shoot me, shoot me."
At first the nurse is terrified of Himmo's injuries, but learns from hs best friend that he was at one time a charismatic ladies man. The Nurse soon becomes obsessed with him and falls in love. Tension rises when Hemo's desire to die becomes even more apparent and a debate embroils as to who shall end his life.
