After losing one of her four children to a terrorist attack and another to a car accident, Nelly Portughez feels she has nothing to live for. Hope returns with her decision to open her home and heart to four abandoned babies, all with Down Syndrome. Raising them and caring for them as if they were regular children, brings a smile back to Nelly's face. She copes with the challenge and grapples with the difficulties and despite opposition and resentment from her husband and two daughters.
