Early life
Maron is the youngest of four siblings. Her mother, an office manager, was born in Siberia, where her family fled from Poland before World War II. Her father was born in Eastern Europe and is a diamond dealer. She grew up on Balfour Street in Tel Aviv.
Granddaughter of veteran Israeli actress Hanna Maron, Maya tries to keep her private life private. She also prefers working the odd job to compromising her acting career, which has sometimes been difficult in the Israeli cinematic industry. She has been known to tend the occasional bar, and work the occasional restaurant around downtown Tel Aviv.
